Covid-19 Through The Eyes Of A Healthcare Worker
After learning the fundamentals of typography and layout all of my skills were wrapped up into this zine. This zine is about the pandemic in 2020 and my story as a healthcare worker fresh in the workforce.
I took care in making sure this zine has a structured layout to highlight the structured environment healthcare has. I gave the illustrations a rough style and the paper a tint rather than bright white. This both takes away the sterile, clean feeling bright white has.
This zine showcases my ability to have a cohesive design through a multi-paged document. It also showcases my ability to play with type in different styles. I have a hand-illustrated type as well as contour type and drop-quotes. My designs have clear hierarchy throughout each page. This zine is a manifestation of my love for type and illustrates the chapter of my life that I have closed. This zine is a vulnerable zine that highlights parts of healthcare often overlooked, especially during 2020-2022 and longer.
